Lenovo, India’s No. 1 PC maker for three straight quarters (source: IDC Q1, Q2 and Q3 CY2012) has launched a new phase in personal computing with the launch of the much-awaited IdeaPad Yoga- 13-inch and 11-inch in India.
One of the hottest products showcased at CES 2012 with 14 awards to its credit, the Yoga is a spectacular multi-mode device that has the unique ability to flip and fold, while offering the user versatility by transforming effortlessly from an ultrabook into a media-friendly tablet in a quick, singular motion, a press statement said.
This Windows 8 device is an all day mobile companion that blends productivity and play to perfection. Infused with powerful 3rd generation ®Intel Core™ processors, Yoga 13 weighing a mere 1.54 kg provides superlative laptop-grade performance to get work done all day without slowing down, thanks to its super slim 0.6 inch frame and eight hours of battery life. At the flip of the special patented double hinge, the keyboard flips 360° all the way to beneath the display to transform into a media-friendly tablet primed with rich audio-visual features like Dolby Home Theatre. Yoga 11’s size, weight (1.25kg) and long 10 hour battery life make it a great tablet. And with Windows RT and Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, it can provide the essentials needed to do office tasks as an Ultrabook in laptop mode.
“Lenovo is one of the first players to embody the convertible design and touch interface in a single device- the IdeaPad Yoga, while providing an optimized Windows 8 experience to the end user. The product is targeted at individuals who want to enhance their performance at work and play through one extraordinarily light device that offers flexible multi-modes. Despite having two devices rolled into one, the Yoga is unbelievably thin, offering the user great mobility and convenience,” said Rajesh Thadani, Director, Consumer Business Segment, Lenovo India.
According to Shailendra Katyal, Director, Marketing, Lenovo India, “With the YOGA we are rounding off one of the most exciting years of innovation and launches in Lenovo’s history. We have seen Ultrabooks, X1 Carbon and Smartphones all getting launched within a few months of each other. We are clearly demonstrating our presence as one of the leading personal technology brands in this country, with this showcase device.”
The introduction of Windows 8 has opened new avenues for Lenovo to create entirely new form factors through path-breaking designs. With the launch of the multi-mode IdeaPad Yoga, Lenovo is responding to the shift in how consumers use their personal computing devices today. The Yoga is further equipped with Lenovo’s Enhanced Experience 8.0, to help explore new usage scenarios with a world of apps, while offering features like faster boot up and cloud services.
