Kingston DataTraveler 2000secure USB drive launched, price starts at Rs 10,000

57083482Digital storage solutions manufacturer Kingston has expanded its product portfolio in India with the launch of the DataTraveler 2000secure USB flash drive. The secure flash drive is available in three storage capacities – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, priced at Rs 10,000, Rs 14,000 and Rs 18,000 respectively. The highlight feature of the Kingston DataTraveler 2000secure USB is its built-in alphanumeric keypad, which allows users to set a secure passphrase for encrypting the data stored on the flash drive. The USB drive is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS and Android.
Kingston DataTraveler 2000secure features a hardware-based, full-disk AES 256-bit data encryption in XTS mode. This basically means that the encryption is not performed on the host computer, but on the drive itself. The flash drive also has an auto-lock feature that gets activated when it is removed from a device. This also deletes the encryption key after 10 repeated failed intrusion attempts. Kingston’s new USB drive is also FIPS 197 certified.
On launching the device in India, Vishal Parekh, marketing director, Kingston India said, “Kingston DataTraveler 2000 is great for users on the go and who want to keep their data secured. Users no longer have to worry about their data as it uses DataLock Technology licensed from ClevX, LLC.” A few days back, Kingston had also announced DataTraveler Ultimate Generation Terabyte, which comes in two different capacities – 1TB and 2TB. The drive also has USB 3.1 Gen 1 for more performance and is made of zinc-alloy metal for increased shock resistance.
