IRCTC Joins Hands with OYO Rooms

Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has joined hands with OYO Rooms for providing standardised accommodation and a convenient booking platform to rail passengers. OYO Rooms will be powering the IRCTC hotel-booking page. It will offer its inventory and promise standardised amenities to rail passengers.
Mr A.K Manocha, CMD IRCTC said that “We are committed to drive efficiencies and enhance our service through innovation. OYO Rooms has propelled the hotel market in India towards new horizon and pioneered the standardisation of affordable hotel-rooms. This partnership contributes another chapter to the successful narrative of “Made in India” initiatives and how tech-enabled solutions will power the next wave of innovation. We have made the necessary technology integrations and will be actively communicating about this newly available option through e-mailers, information on e-tickets so that our travellers can explore and utilise these services.”
IRCTC-OYO Rooms will provide almost 45,000 hotel rooms in 170 cities in India. The IRCTC portal is seeing a booking of 5 to 5.5 lakhs per day. OYO Rooms has recently surpassed 1 million check-ins across its network. Mr Abhinav Sinha, COO of OYO Rooms further stated that they are aiming at delivering homely comfort at an affordable price. This will ensure that irrespective of where one is travelling to, they will prefer to opt for rooms booked via the IRCTC-OYO network. He said that the initial step in fulfilling this mandate was for OYO to expand its footprint and provide the comfort of a wide network.
