IPC Online Store Now Offers 2013 iNEMI Roadmap

IPC_logo IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announces its online store is selling the 2013 Roadmap from the International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (iNEMI) through a special agreement between the two organizations. The iNEMI Roadmap will complement the information available in the IPC International Electronic Technology Roadmap for Electronic Interconnection.

Now in its tenth edition, the iNEMI Roadmap identifies key trends that will shape the electronics manufacturing industry over the next decade, including cloud computing, the growth of MEMS and sensors, and sustainability issues such as recycling. It also pinpoints high-level technology gaps and areas to focus R&D efforts.

The iNEMI Roadmap provides a high-level projection of the products and performance capabilities that will be needed in the markets addressed — which Marc Carter, IPC director of technology transfer, refers to as the “what” — while the IPC International Roadmap identifies the specific means to build those products or, as Carter says, the “how to.” Both roadmaps identify gaps along their specific paths, but at a different level.

The iNEMI Roadmap is 1,900 pages long, includes 26 chapters and features 336 tables and 515 figures. More than 650 individuals from more than 350 corporations, consortia, government agencies and universities in 18 countries contributed to its development.

The complete iNEMI Roadmap is provided on a USB drive and is available to IPC members for $2,850; the nonmember rate is $3,000. IPC members may also purchase individual chapters via download for $475 each; the nonmember rate for each chapter is $500. More information, including ordering information, is available in IPC’s online store at www.ipc.org/iNEMI-roadmap.
