Investment platform focused on fixed assets, Tap Invest, has successfully secured $2 million in funding

Indian fixed-income investment startup Tap Invest has successfully secured $2 million in a seed funding round, with contributions from investors such as Turbostart, Snow Leopard Ventures, angel investors (including Kunal Shah, the founder of Cred), and existing investors Upsparks and Superb Capital. Tap Invest, previously operating under the name Leaf Round, offers fixed-income investment opportunities to its user base, enabling them to engage in asset leasing and invoice discounting. The company was initially established in 2021 by Nishchay Nath, an ex-executive from True North, Soumya Kushwaha, a former McKinsey professional, and Himanshu Chowdhary, who had prior experience with Media.net and Games24x7.

The platform had already onboarded over 12,500 investors before its rebranding, amassing investments exceeding INR 150 crore. Tap Invest aspires to raise INR 500 crore by the end of 2024 for similar fixed-income investment opportunities, with the goal of involving more than 20,000 active users in various fixed-income instruments via its platform. The startup aims to leverage the newly acquired funds to expand its market presence, foster substantial growth, diversify its service offerings on the debt investment front, and enhance awareness of such investment opportunities among young Indians. Chris Kolenaty, the founder of Snow Leopard Ventures, emphasized his investment in the company by praising the founders’ strong customer focus, extensive product development, and positive user retention trends from a cohort perspective.
