Infosys VC said, online courses will help to improve the overall quality of education

 infosys_office_reutersWith advancing technology, the need is for more online courses that will help improve the overall quality of education, said Kris Gopalakrishnan, vice chairman of Infosys, while addressing the students of PSG Institute of Management at its golden jubilee celebration on Sunday.

Gopalakrishnan pitched in a few ideas that would help both the students and teachers.

“Today, the world is changing with advanced technology and the institute should play a vital role in providing a platform for online courses. A great number of courses can be conducted as per the need of the alumni to help students interact with the outside world thereby improving the quality of education that becomes more affordable and accessible,” he said, adding “This would help both the students and the individual as such.”

To mark a year-long golden jubilee celebration, a series of 50 lectures has been scheduled that will include business leaders speaks, educators speaks, managers speaks and NGO’s speaks is on. There is to be an international conference, industry conclave, a golden jubilee memorial cricket tournament, alumni meet and a management fest. A coffee table book on the college and and the stars of PSGIM is also in the cards as a part of the 50-years celebrations.

The institute will be organizing an international conference that will focus on inventive business practices and policy measures.

R Nandagopal, director of PSG Institute of Management said, “The conference is aimed at exploring the values of sustainability that can be included through impact of internalization of business, current front line in business research, values of corporate social responsibility and by redefining management education to sustain, transform and transcend.”
