Indian engineering student wins global presentation competition in London

Sudeshna Saha announced as the winner of the global finals of IET Present Around the World (PATW) competition held in London

Sudeshna Saha from Techno India College Kolkata won the global finals of IET Indiathe unique presentation competition ‘Present round the World’ (PATW) instituted by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). In what was an intense competition, contested by four regional finalists from Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and UK Sudeshna becomes the first Indian to win this prestigious competition since its inception. The results were announced on November 19, 2014 at the IET awards ceremony.

Sudeshna’s winning presentation focused on the scientific breakthroughs in batteries focusing on the Super-Powered Batteries and the Jelly Batteries. Earlier this year, she competed at regional level followed by South Asia finals that took place in India. She was awarded with a cash prize of £1,000 (approx. Rs. 100,000/-).

IET PATW is a global presentation competition for students, graduates and young professionals aged 18-26 years. Individual competitors give a presentation for 10 minutes on a subject related to engineering and technology and answer questions for a further five minutes in front of an audience and a panel of judges.
