IFA 2014: Microsoft Lumia 830 Launched With 10MP PureView Camera

IFA 2014 has been the curtain raiser for several highly awaited smartphones till now by market leading brands. The latest being Microsoft as they took the lids off their latestWindows device, Lumia 830, at the Berlin event. The company has confirmed that Lumia 830 will be available globally at Rs 26,200.

Lumia 830 runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with the new Lumia Denim update. This update will be rolling out for other Lumia handsets too. Microsoft has claimed that Lumia 830 is the “thinnest and lightest Lumia to date”. Lumia 830 will be available in green, grey, orange and white colour variants. Microsoft has also launched Lumia 730 Dual SIM and Lumia 735.

At the launch event Microsoft emphasised on the fact that the new Lumia 830 is “the affordable flagship.” Lumia 830 sports 10MP PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics, LED flashand the “thinnest” Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) set-up. The phone also packs a 1MP front-shooter. Lumia 830 has also several enhancements to it like Nokia Rich Recording and Nokia Camera. The company confirmed that over-the-air (OTA) update of Lumia Camera for Lumia 830 which will add features like quicker camera start-up, shooting speeds, Tich Capture and Moment Capture.

Lumia 830 has some pre-installed features like Notification Centre, Live Tiles, Microsoft Office, Cortana, OneDrive, Live Folders, Apps Corner, an updated Glance screen and many more. Microsoft has also offered some more features like low-power motion-sensing technology and dubbed SensorCore in Lumia 830. The SensorCore is aimed at fitness freaks as it can track movements. It has some paired apps like Bing Health and Fitness and Adidas miCoach. Lumia 830 has a 12.7-cm (5-inch) HD (720×1280 pixels) ClearBlack IPS LCD display with pixel density of 296ppi, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB in-built storage expandable up to 128GB, 15GB free cloud storage and also wireless charging.
