IET Scholarships Award 2014 receives close to 4000 entries

– Regional rounds to be held in July – August

 

The IET Scholarship award 2014 has received an overwhelming response from the engineering students across India with over 3,677 applicants applying for the prestigious award, an annual grant with a combined prize of Rs. 8 lakhs, established by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), India.

 

Based on the eligibility criteria, about 860 engineering students were shortlisted to write the preliminary online test and from these 168 students are now ready to compete in the regional rounds scheduled to be held in July. 2014. The regional rounds will also witness 40 upcoming women engineers vying for the top spot.

 

The IET instituted the annual IET Scholarship Awards which is in its second year now, to underline the organisation’s commitment towards strengthening India’s engineering ecosystem and rewarding and celebrating individual excellence and innovation among undergraduate engineering students, including women engineers.

We announced the IET Scholarship Award in 2013 and have received significant momentum this year as well. We hope that this initiative will provide a strong incentive and support to our young engineering minds to excel and stand out in their career”. 

 

The Scholarship Award Nite to fete the National winners is slated to be held on August 26, 2014 in Bangalore. Mr N. R. Narayana Murthy, Founder, Non-Executive Chairman, Infosys Limited will be the Chief Guest for the evening.
