A new 7.8-inch tablet from Acer, branded the Iconia A1-810, has gone live on a French retail site and the tablet’s specs make it appear to be an iPad Mini competitor. According to Tech Radar, who spotted the tablet on the French retailer’s site, the Iconia tablet is priced at €199 (Rs. 14,173 approx.), which would make it less expensive than the iPad Mini.

The retailer’s website reveals that the Iconia A1-810 will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The Iconia tablet also has 16GB of internal storage and wields a 5MP rear camera. According to the product details posted on the retail site, the Iconia’s dimensions read- 208.7 x 145.7 x 10.5 mm and it weighs 460 grams. This means that while the Iconia shares the iPad Mini’s specs, it will end up being thicker and heavier than the Apple tablet.

There’s no word yet on whether the Iconia A1-810 will be launched in India and if so, when or at what price.
