iBall CompBook Excelance, Exemplaire Laptops: Key Specs, Price And More

iBall, after marking its presence in the smartphone and Iballtablet segment, finally entered the laptop market by launching two new computing devices under its CompBook series. Earlier this week, the company launched the CompBook Excelance and the CompBook Exemplaire laptops priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively.

We are yet to test how the laptop performs in real-world usage. The two laptops largely have the same set of specifications, except for the screen sizes – 11-inch and 14-inch. The smaller CompBook Excelance was the highlight of the launch event and now holds the title of the cheapest Windows 10 laptop available in India.

We are yet to test the laptops in detail. However, during the limited time spent with them, we found the laptops to be just about right for the price point.

As the cheapest Windows 10 laptop in India, the CompBook Excelance seems too good to be true. It has an 11-inch IPS antiglare display with a tactile chiclet keyboard. The display has great viewing angles too. Although the laptop’s made out of plastic, it still feels sturdy. It is also light weight and highly portable.

On the software side, you get Microsoft Windows 10 and all the features the OS comes with. These include Microsoft Edge browser, Cortana integration, universal apps and more.

Under-the-hood, iBall CompBook Excelance packs a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor clocked at 1.83GHz. It also comes with 2GB of RAM and Intel HD graphics. We tried some apps on the display unit and it handled them with ease. However, it is too early to jump to any conclusions as we are yet to review it.

On the storage front, both laptops come with 32GB of in-built space of which a good amount is taken by Windows 10. iBall could’ve done better in this department as 32GB will likely not be enough for users. However, they have the option to add a microSD card up to 64GB for expansion.

iBall CompBook laptops come with a VGA resolution webcam for video chats, and they have a microSD slot, a Mini HDMI port and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Another highlight of India’s cheapest Windows 10 laptop is its large 10,000mAh battery, which is claimed by the company to last up to 8.5 hours on a single charge. We are yet to see how the battery performs in our tests, so stay tuned for the full review soon.
