Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 have launched 66W Fast Charing and 160 Megapixel Main Camera

The MagicOS 7.0 user interface was unveiled by Honor at a significant two-day launch event in China recently, but the major hardware announcements, including the release of three new phones, have been announced now.

Both the Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 include 160MP primary cameras, Qualcomm processors, and curved OLED panels. The least expensive of the three, the Honor 80 SE, features a 64MP main camera and a Dimensity 900 processor.

The highlight of the show is the Honor 80 Pro, which features a 6.78-inch curved OLED with a resolution of 2700 x 1224 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Below the ear speaker is a pill-shaped notch in the 10-bit panel that houses a 50MP selfie camera and a second 2MP depth module. The Honor 80 has a somewhat smaller, curved 6.67-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The punch hole cutout here houses a single 32MP selfie camera.

With the main Cortex-X2 core running at 3.0GHz (instead of 3.2GHz) and the three Cortex-A710 Gold cores being capped at 2.5GHz (as opposed to 2.75GHz on other phones with the SD 8+ chip), the Honor 80 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The recently unveiled Snapdragon 782G chipset, which will replace the SD 778G+ SoC, is included in the Honor 80.

Moving on to the cameras, the 160MP primary camera is shared both the Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80. This image sensor has a 1/1.56-inch diagonal, an f/1.8 aperture, 16-in-1 binning, and 0.75-m pixels. Additionally, Honor will be delivering its updated Image Engine, which now features enhanced scene optimizations, improved skin texture identification, and improved AI RAW algorithms. With AI Vlog mode, artists may give their videos more sophisticated controls.

The Honor 80 Pro also has a 50MP ultrawide module, and a 2MP depth assist module is the third module on its back. The rear of the Honor 80 features the same 2MP depth module and a less competent 8MP ultrawide. Both devices have 4,800 mAh batteries with 66W wired fast charging and run MagicOS 7, which is based on Android 12. Black, green, blue, and pink are the available colours for the Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80.

The price of the Honor 80 Pro ranges from CNY 3,499 (~Rs.36,000) for the 8/256GB trim to CNY 4,099 (~Rs.41,000) for the 12/512GB model. The 8/256GB trim of the Honor 80 costs CNY 2,699 (~Rs.27,000), while the 12/512GB model costs CNY 3,299 (~Rs.34,000).
