HCL Infosystems has won an order from Chhattisgarh

BANGALORE: HCL Infosystems has won an order from Chhattisgarh Infotech & Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) to supply 14,000 laptops to final year engineering and medical students of government-aided and private colleges across the state.

The project is part of the Chhattisgarh Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana started by the Chhattisgarh government. CHiPS is the nodal agency for procurement of laptops for the project on behalf of the state government and executing the project in coordination with the directorate of technical education. This is the first phase of the project, where HCL Infosystems is supplying 14,000 laptops.

HCL Infosystems will provide to the students in different districts comprising of 51 colleges across Chhattisgarh. Neeraj Jaitley, president of Enterprise Solutions, HCL Infosystems said, “We have always been committed towards the cause of IT enablement in learning, which we believe will revolutionize the education system in our country.”

The company will also set up its service centres in few districts to offer comprehensive maintenance and handle any service requests. The specifications of the laptops that will be given to the students includes Intel dual core processor with 2 GB RAM, 500 GB hard disk and Wi-Fi among other features.
