Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL users report battery issues

Google launched its Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones last year in October. Since the launch, both the smartphones have been in the news for various issues and problems encountered by the users. Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphone users have reported issues like screen burn-in, inferior display and audio problems.
Lately, some Google Pixel 2 users have reported facing experiencing heating issues with their devices. “I recently updated my Pixel 2 to the latest security patch. I’ve checked it’s not a recently downloaded app, I’ve uninstalled all the apps I downloaded before it started getting hot just to check. It gets fairly warm almost instantly after starting to use it, within about a minute or so of anything really. Anyone got any advice? Battery life seems unaffected,” wrote a user on Reddit.

Some other users too have complained that their handsets are getting warm and battery is draining at very fast rate. Both the issues cropped up after a recent update rolled out by the company. For many users, the heating issue satrted after they installed security patch for the month of February. The report also added that Google Pixel 2 was reportedly getting warmer even in the standby mode.

While some users are facing only battery issue, some others are witnessing both the problems with their smartphones. The company has not yet released any official acknowledgement for any of the issue.

Earlier this month, Google activated the Pixel Visual Core on the Pixel 2 smartphone. The Google Pixel 2 users are now able to capture better images using any third party camera app. This means that the users will be able to click more saturated and bright images using the camera inside apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram or Snapchat.
