Google India announces the travel trends this summer

Google India announced its top travel trends for this summer based on searches conducted in India.
 
“Indians love to travel and Google search trends highlight that an increasing number of Indians are looking to travel closer home, with the top searched-for travel destinations being some of the domestic locations,” Google Country Head (Products) Lalitesh Katragadda said.
 
With the scorching sun and summer vacations round the corner, an increasing number of Indians are looking to travel domestic places offering great experience in a limited budget, search engine Google said today.
 
This can also be linked to the growing trend of budget travel where people are continuously looking for an great experience in a limited budget, Katragadda added.
 
According to top travel trends this summer, Indians have new love for adventure tourism with most opting for snorkeling and scuba diving at places like Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Goa, Indians are not only looking at travel destinations closer home, but are also looking for a great travel experience in a limited budget, Google said.
 
Coming to international travel, Indians love to laze around the beautiful beaches of Maldives or go shopping in Singapore. Other popular destinations include Paris, New York, Seychelles and Bahamas are the other popular destinations, he said.
 
Among the top destinations for travel during the summers in the country, Andaman & Nicobar Islands was the most preferred search choice followed by Uttarakhand,and Goa, the trend report revealed.
 
Explaining the trend Katragadda said the most searched for activities and sights included scuba diving in Andamans, Jim Corbett Park in Uttarakhand and not to forget the beaches in Goa.
 
When it comes to exploring heritage sites and wildlife sanctuaries or a quick weekend getaway, Taj Mahal and the Jim Corbett National Park topped the search charts, he added.
