FireEye scouts for niche partners

Moving out of the US, California based threat protection security vendor FireEye has opened its second R&D center in Bengaluru and appointed Indian team for its operation. The company will be hiring talent pool of 250 in the next three years for the center.

In the India’s team, people from McAfee and Symantec have joined. Sridhar Jayanthi, who will head the new R&D center as VP, research and development, and as MD, India, operations.

Ramsunder Papineni will head the sales business as the regional sales director for India.

The company is taking indirect route to distribute its end to end hardware appliances for the enterprise segment. It is looking at appointing niche global Sis, tier 2 sis and resellers.

Speaking on the initiative, Sridhar Namachivayan, director, channels and strategic alliances, India and Saarc, FireEye said, “We have close to 20 global alliances in India and we are looking at overgrown these alliances and our targeted verticals are financial services, PSUs, government, defense and oil and gas companies. Moreover, we are about to sign up our national distributor shortly and have appointed 5-6 regional SIs for our go to market strategy.”

FireEye has also appointed SIs like ACPL, Softcell, Value Point and Veeras and some of cyber forensic companies. These partners have completed the hands on training on the products and will get certified by the company.

Papineni added, “We are expanding our channel base with niche set of partners who have the expertise in the enterprise security space. We are focusing on the partner’s profitability so we will be very selective in our approach.”
