Facebook not to display ads on pages with violent, sexual content

facebooklogoFacebook Inc has announced that it will no longer allow ads on pages with violent, sexual content. Facebook has announced on Friday, that it  will be  implementing  a new review process for determining which Pages and Groups should feature ads alongside their content. This process will expand the scope of Pages and Groups that should be ad-restricted.

Ads account for roughly 85 percent of revenue at Facebook. It said that the move wont have a meaningful impact on Facebook’s business, but will result in benefits to people and marketers.

In a post on Friday, Facebook said,” The review process will be manual at first, but in the coming weeks we will build a more scalable, automated way to prevent and/or remove ads appearing next to controversial content.”

According to the company this move will will improve detection of questionable content, and will also make advertising messages appear next to brand-appropriate Pages and Groups.
