Essar has a large number of employees who are always on the move. For the conglomerate, the challenge was to deliver effective communication from its top management to employees. Simultaneously, it wanted to ensure seamless training for its senior management including conveying important business metrics.

To deliver this content the organization zeroed in on Drona Mobile, an enterprise mobile management platform to deliver content. Besides the compatibility of applications over the sharing medium, scalability and the service catalog were the other key factors considered.
Explaining the benefits of mobile-enabled training and communication, Jayantha Prabhu, CTO, Essar, says, “We have been able to extend our existing learning and development programs on emerging and experienced managers’ BlackBerry phones. We can push announcements and messages from top leaders within the organization. We can also introduce concepts and pass on refresher modules in leadership and other areas.”
Today, more than 500 employees within Essar access content in the form of text and videos. The company can conduct just-in-time training, schedule delivery of videos, and create a learning path for the employee. It can also look at usage patterns and accordingly deliver videos and content.
