Degrees conferred to 207 scholars

LNMIIT celebrated its Seventh Convocation on 8th December in a manner befitting the occasion.   The Institute, a Deemed University, is a public-private partnership venture in the field of Information Technology and was established in September 2002 jointly by the Government of Rajasthan and the Lakshmi & Usha Mittal Foundation as an autonomous non-profit organization.

Degrees were conferred upon 207 scholars including B. Tech students, Post Graduate students and One Ph D student. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Bombay and Chairman, Board of Governors, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (Punjab). The function was attended by governing council members, distinguished persons from the government and bureaucracy, and esteemed memberDSC_0145s of media and press. 

The Prof. Ranjan Gangopadhya presented the graduating candidates. The Director, Prof. S.S Gokhale conferred the degree on the students. Thereafter, Prof Gokhale presented the Institute’s annual report. The Director’s report highlighted the achievements and accolades won by LNMIITians in academic as well as extra-curricular fields.

Prof. SS Gokhale extolled the strengths of the Institute as arising out of the rich and varied backgrounds of the accomplished Faculty at the Institute. The Faculty team at LNMIIT possesses a wide range of qualifications and experience including academic as well as industry. This leads to the rich and varied perspectives necessary for any institution to grow. The Director also spoke about the growth plans for the LNMIIT pertaining to new curriculums, infrastructure and the support received by the Institute from the Chairman of LNMIIT Governing Council, Shri L.N. Mittal. He mentioned that keeping in with the current trend in the environment the institute has added Mechatronaic Engineering to its curriculum starting July 2013. This he said would further enhance the acceptability and growth of the Institute.



  Prof SS Gokhale highlighted the dynamism and academic vitality of LNMIIT that is reflected through the large number of high level conferences, workshops and research activities organized by the LNMIIT Faculty. Further, he mentioned that students from LNMIIT have not only carried out cutting research and rewarded with internships both in India and abroad but have also received accolades at prestigious National and International Conferences.  Prof. SS Gokhale ended his address with some advice to the graduating students as they go forth from LNMIIT. He stressed the importance of ethics, honesty and values for leading a meaningful and fulfilling life.
