BMW iX Electric SUV Revealed

German luxury automaker has revealed that an electric sport utility vehicle or otherwise known as SUV which is called the BMW iX is ready to go on sale in the US at the starting of the year 2022 to compete with Tesla and other competitors.

The German company has said that the iX should have a driving range of 300 miles which is less than the projected driving range of the Tesla Model X Long Range, which is rated at 371 miles in the USA. BMW has said that the drivers would be able to add 75 miles of range in 10mins at a fast-charging station.

They have further said that the latest model will be comparable in size to the present BMW X5 SUV. The dashboard will be a sweeping, curved screen.

The electric iX will enter a fast-growing field of battery-powered SUVs which is targeted at well-off customers.

Tesla’s Model X has already started facing competition from Chinese start-up Nio, and General Motors’s Cadillac brand has currently rolled-out a mid-size electric SUV called the Lyriq which is desired to launch in the year, 2022. Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen have electric premium models that are currently in progress.

Ford Motor’s Mustang Mach-E is targeting a slice of the performance fanatic market that BMW has defined 10yrs ago. Ford has said on 9th November that, it envisioned adding a 2nd model built on the foundations of the Mach-E.
