BlackNGreen has partnered with the MTN Group to launch VAS services across Africa and the Middle East. This is in line with BlackNGreen’s vision of spreading their wings to over 80 countries by the end of 2014. With the reach that MTN offers and the innovation brought in by BlackNGreen, this partnership is bound to re-define the VAS markets in these regions.

MTN is amongst the most prominent telecom operators in the emerging markets with their services reaching out to over 200 million subscribers across 22 countries. With their focus on offering state-of-the-art technology through innovative products, they have carved out a niche for themselves in the emerging markets of Africa and the Middle East.

Rahul Gupta, Director, BlackNGreen said “The African mobile market is growing at a CAGR of 12% and this is a boon to the VAS industry. With a significant volume of operations in Africa this is good news for us, considering the strength of MTN in the African Telecom Space.” He also went on to say that, in their quest to offer creative VAS offerings that touch the lives of millions, MTN had been a big stakeholder from the very beginning.“When we launched Magic Voice in MTN Nigeria, we knew that we had a great product that could set new records, but the resounding success that followed left us all in awe. With 1 million subscriptions within the first 3 weeks, Magic Voice has recorded over 16 million subscriptions and 40 million minutes of usage since its launch” Rahul saidThis partnership is projected to yield USD 20 Million over the first year and BNG expects to have a penetration rate of around 4% to 6% of the total subscriber base.

BlackNGreen would be rolling out its world renowned voice morphing product called Magic Voice across the MTN Group companies besides the famed religious portal that caters to Islam and Christianity. Other path breaking products and platforms would be added with time, based on local requirements and demographics. This partnership would cover a host of countries that MTN operates in. They would be covering Swaziland, Uganda, Cyprus, Benin, Sudan, Ivory Coast, Zambia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Guinea Conakry, Ghana, Yemen, Rwanda, Congo and Liberia in the first phase and their services are live in most of these countries already. The deployment processes are in the pipeline for the other MTN locations as well, like Afghanistan, South Sudan, South Africa etc. and they would be going live with their services in these countries shortly.
