Samsung Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update resumes with February security patch and bug fixes

Samsung recently cancelled the Android Oreo update for its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ due to some reboot issues. But now it seems that the company has resolved the problems and has resumed the update.

It was reported that Samsung has created a new version and now it will not cause any issue to the smartphones. The Android 8.0 Oreo update also brings the security patch for the month of February along with the new Experience U.I 9.0.

For those unaware, the company launched the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ last year in April. Both the devices come with Samsung’s own Infinity Edge display and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The devices run Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and are now receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update.

The South Korean consumer electronics giant is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphones Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the MWC 2018, in Barcelona Spain. The smartphones are expected to come with improved camera capabilities.

The smartphones are said to come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and are said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The devices are speculated to sport the same Infinity Edge display like their predecessors.

The smartphones are said to come with IP68 rating which will make the devices dust and water resistant. Flipkart also teased both the smartphones on its website hinting that they will be exclusively available on the website for purchase.

Last year also Samsung partnered with Flipkart for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The smartphones are expected to go on pre-order on Flipkart starting starting February 25.
