Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra goes on sale in Canada

Japanese smartphone maker Sony recently launched its latest smartphone – Xperia XA1 Ultra in Canada. The smartphone went up for sale starting July 6 in the country via Canadian telecom operator Freedom Mobile. The device comes with a price tag of $420.
In terms of specifications, the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra comes with a 6-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. It’s powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB in size. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 2,700mAh battery with fast charging support. All standard connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth are included. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
The Xperia XA1 Ultra features a 23MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash, in addition to 4K video recording support. There’s also a 16MP front-facing camera for the selfie-lovers out there.
Earlier this week, Sony started rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for a few of its smartphones. Android N update is available for Xperia Z5 , Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium , Xperia Z3 Plus and Xperia Z4 tablet.
The Android 7.1 update brings several new features including an update that enables users to launch apps directly from the home screen. A few big fixes and improvements have also been made.
The update comes with build number 32.4.A.0.160 and also includes the Android security patch for June 1, 2017. The update is available in select countries and will see a global roll out soon.
