Zomato Order, which branched out its delivery service into a separate app in May this year, enables people to order food online from over 10,000 restaurant partners. The app is already available via the Windows Store. The 14 Indian cities covered are Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Kochi, Jaipur, and Coimbatore. The service had been piloted in Delhi/NCR region in April this year, charging commissions between 7.5 to 15 percent from the restaurants based on ratings.

The app lets users look at digitised menus of restaurants, search by name and location, track order status, and make quick re-orders. Additional features such as online payments, search filters, and promo codes will be pushed out in the next update, an emailed statement said.

“For restaurant businesses, we’re focused on building products that connect restaurants to consumers and we believe that this feature is a key building block for the seamless, one-stop experience”, said Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO, Zomato.

Founded in 2008, Zomato has raised $163.8 million in 7 funding rounds. The service lists over a million restaurants across 22 countries, and has made a series of high-profile acquisitions including Urbanspoon, Mekanist, and NexTable this year.
