Zebra Technologies’ RhoMobile App Development Platform Goes Open Source

Evolution makes RhoMobile an industry platform for the enterprise mobility market

Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a global leader in solutions and services that provide real-Zebratime visibility into organizations’ assets, people and transactions, today announced that RhoMobile Suite , its enterprise and consumer mobile app development platform, is now released to open source under the MIT License. By opening control of the software to customers, partners and the development community, Zebra is enabling developers to add features, support new operating systems (OSes), and fix bugs specific to their solutions.

KEY FACTS

RhoMobile Suite is a set of development tools for creating data-centric, cross-platform, native mobile apps.

Within RhoMobile Suite, the components – RhoConnect and RhoElements – will now be open source. Rhodes and RhoStudio were open sourced previously.

RhoConnect is an enterprise-class solution for performing app integration and data synchronization with time-saving ease.

RhoElements is the only modern framework focused on the needs of enterprise apps, allowing users to write native enterprise mobile apps with web skills such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Independent software vendors (ISVs) are encouraged to adopt the RhoMobile platform for both Zebra and non-Zebra devices and help advance RhoMobile as an industry enterprise platform.
