Yet-to-be-announced Vivo V5 Plus smartphone goes on pre-order

56594316Chinese smartphone maker Vivo’s V5 Plus smartphone, set to launch in India later this week, is already up on pre-orders on third-party website in Malaysia. The listing on Malaysian retailer DirectD also reveals the specifications of the upcoming smartphone. Listed at RM 1,799 (Rs 27,500 approximately), Vivo V5 Plus measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6 mm and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM. The V5 Plus also includes 64GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB. On the camera front, the smartphone , as per the listing, sports a 16MP rear camera and a dual-front-facing camera featuring 20MP and 8MP sensors.
Unfortunately, the dual-SIM supporting Vivo V5 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead of the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. In addition, the device will be backed by a 3160mAh battery with fast charging capability. The listing says the Vivo V5 Plus will be made available starting January 21. In November 2016, Vivo launched V5 Plus’s younger sibling the V5 in India. Bearing a price tag of Rs 17,980, the USP of the Vivo V5 is its 20MP front-facing camera, accompanied by a Moonlight Glow feature and Facebeauty 6.0. The camera app comes with various ‘beautification’ features such as eye enlargement, face slimming and skin blemish reduction, which help in clicking ‘better’ selfies. There is also a one tap beauty feature which automatically tweaks numerous facial features to enhance selfies.
