Xolo A550s IPS With 3G Support, 4-Inch IPS Display Launched at Rs. 5,799

xolo_a550s_ipsXolo has launched the A550s IPS smartphone, which is now listed on the company’s site at a price of Rs. 5,799. There is no official word on the availability details of the Xolo A550s IPS; though, we expect that the company will announce the availability of the smartphone in coming days.

The Xolo A550s IPS is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs the now-dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. It comes with a 4-inch (480×800 pixels) WVGA IPS display and offers a pixel density of 233ppi.

The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6572M) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and Mali 400 GPU. The Xolo A550s IPS comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The rear camera features scene detection, face recognition, Panorama, geo tagging, Best shot, Smile shot, and HDR options.

On the connectivity front, the Xolo A550s IPS offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 1400mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 630 hours of standby time on 2G network. The Xolo A550s IPS measures 125×63.9×9.1mm and is listed in White colour.

The domestic handset maker last week confirmed the launch of its Hive UI for Android smartphones. The Xolo Play 8X-1000 smartphone will also launch alongside the new Hive UI on the August 6 event the company has sent invites for.

Recently, Xolo launched its first Windows Phone 8.1 handset, the Win Q900s, listed on the official site with a ‘buy now’ option and a price of Rs. 11,999. Xolo also launched the Android version of the handset, called Xolo Q900s, priced at Rs. 9,999.
