Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Android Oreo beta program announced

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its first bezel-less smartphone Mi Mix 2 in India last month. The company has now started the Android Oreo beta program for the smartphone. Presently, the company has rolled out the program for MIUI 9 China ROM, however, it is applicable to all the regions. This means that all those users who wish to enrol for the Beta program will have to use MIUI China Alpha ROM.
Users who want to join the the program nned to visit the company’s MIUI forum. The deadline for the application is December 24 and those users qho qualify for the Beta program will be announced by December 27. This is an Alpha testing so it might take some weeks for the stable ROM. It is also expected that the company might bring the Global Android Oreo program soon.
To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with a price tag of Rs 35,999 and offers a bezel-less display. The smartphone comes with a 5.99-inch full HD+ with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1080×2160 pixels resolution. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU.
The device comes with a ceramic unibody and offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The users can add more storage by inserting a microSD card. The dual SIM smartphone boasts of a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording, 4-axis OIS and dual tone LED flash. The device also houses a 5MP front-facing camera with facial recognition placed at the bottom of the display.
Measuring 151.8x 75.5 x7.7 mm, the smartphone is backed by a 3400mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. It comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C as connectivity options.
Recently, the company launched the Special Edition Red colour variant of its Mi A1 smartphone at Rs 13,999 in India.
