Xiaomi Mi 4c launch Date Leaked

While all eyes are on Xiaomi to launch its next flagship smartphone Mi 5, the company has been less than clear about its launch plan. The latest word on the grapevine is that the Chinese manufacturer will launch another variant of Mi 4 in the meanwhile to keep its lineup fresh.

The upcoming model, named Mi 4c, will be announced on September 24 and hit the market on October 3, according to a report by technology website Xiaomi Today. Moreover, Xiaomi will reportedly plans to sell only 1,00,000 units of the smartphone, priced at 1,299 yuan (approx $204).

Additionally, Weibo user JetaimeTech, (via GizmoChina) has posted an image of the Xiaomi Mi 4c retail box that reveals a few more features of the upcoming smartphone. The handset will reportedly have a 5-inch Full HD screen, 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and 3,080mAh battery.

The retail box also says that Mi 4c will feature the new USB Type C connector.

In terms of features, Xiaomi Mi 4c will be pretty similar to the Mi 4i model that the company launched earlier this year in India. The key differences between the two are the more powerful processor and the new USB port.

It is unlikely that Xiaomi will launch Mi 4c in India if it indeed sells only 1,00,000 units of the smartphone.
