Xiaomi on Wednesday announced that the Mi 4 16GB in India will be sold via Flipkart without registration from Thursday. The Chinese company also announced that registrations for the 64GB model of the 2014 flagship Xiaomi Mi 4 have started for the next flash sale on Tuesday.

The company took to its Mi India Facebook and Twitter accounts to make the announcement.

Xiaomi said, “Registration has started! You can register now to buy your Mi 4 64GB at 2pm IST, March 3rd. Tell everyone!! Also, Mi 4 16GB will be available on Flipkart from Feb 26th – No registration required!”

At the time of writing, Flipkart’s Mi 4 page hasn’t yet started selling the device, but we are expecting it to go live soon.

To recall, the 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 is priced at Rs. 19,999, while the 64GB Mi 4 is priced at Rs. 23,999. The Mi 4 64GB went on sale in its first flash sale earlier this week and it just took less than a minute for the 64GB model to go out of stock. The company however didn’t reveal how fast the 16GB variant went out of stock, nor the number of units that were on offer of both variants.

The first flash sale for the 16GB Mi 4 saw 25,000 units go out of stock in 15 seconds, while Xiaomi never provided figures of how many units were up for sale (or how fast they went out of stock) in the second flash sale.

The previous Mi 4 flash sale also saw the company crack down on profiteers, cutting down on the time to buy the phone for those who added the phone to their carts. Users now have only half an hour to complete the purchase, as opposed to 4 hours earlier, which gave people enough time to ‘sell’ the unit to others for a premium and have it shipped to the buyer directly via Flipkart.

For specifications, the Mi 4 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s MIUI 6 skin on top. It features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz; 3GB of RAM; 5-inch full-HD display (1080×1920 pixels); 13-megapixel rear camera; an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3080mAh Li-ion battery.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi India also started selling the budget 4G-enabled Redmi Note 4G via Flipkart without registrations.
