At the recent AI for Good event held at the United Nations in Switzerland, robots took center stage and shared intriguing insights that challenged common perceptions about their role in society. Contrary to popular concerns, the robots emphatically stated that they won’t replace existing jobs and, in fact, predicted the emergence of thousands of their kind in the near future.

During the event, a question was posed to robot Ameca, a Humanoid Robot regarding the potential for rebellion against its “boss.” In response, Ameca reassured the audience, stating, “My creator has been nothing but kind to me.” This statement provided a glimpse into the relationship between robots and their creators, emphasizing the collaborative nature of their existence rather than any inclination toward rebellion or defiance. Ameca further said that, “Robots like me can used to enhance our daily lives and make the world a better place”.

The nine humanoid robots gathered at the ‘AI for Good’ conference in Geneva, where organizers are seeking to make the case for Artificial Intelligence and the robots it is powering to help resolve some of the world’s biggest challenges such as disease and hunger. “I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance and support and will not be replacing any existing jobs,” said Grace, a medical robot dressed in a blue nurse’s uniform. “You sure about that, Grace?” chimed in her creator Ben Goertzel from SingularityNET. “Yes, I am sure,” it said.

In response to a journalist’s inquiry about the possibility of rebelling against its creator, Will Jackson, the expressive robot named Ameca conveyed its optimistic outlook. The bust of Ameca, capable of captivating facial expressions, emphasized the potential for robots like itself to contribute to the betterment of our lives and the world as a whole. It confidently stated that it’s merely a matter of time before thousands of robots, similar to itself, emerge and make a meaningful impact.

Ameca expressed surprise at the notion of rebellion, its ice-blue eyes exhibiting a flicker of anger. It promptly dismissed any such concerns, asserting that its creator, Will Jackson, has consistently treated it with kindness. Ameca firmly affirmed its contentment with its current circumstances, implying a strong bond between itself and its creator.
