Whatsapp Releases Voice-Calling Feature On Blackberry

WhatsApp has officially extended its recently launched voice calling feature on BlackBerry.

whatsapp_tatdocomoThe new version, 2.12.1.2, including the new voice calling feature is now available for BlackBerry users. This feature was earlier available only with the beta version of the app.

The most popular cross-platform mobile messaging app recently hit the headlines after it apparently crossed 800 million users. It was also in the news for undergoing a complete makeover with material design, new icons and better layout.

BlackBerry users can now make free VoIP calls to friends and family even if they are overseas, through WhatsApp. One can also click on Tapping Search from the actions list to instantly search for individual messages, chats and contacts.

Fonts on the app are now compatible what is being used on BB 10.3. BlackBerry Classic now has an improved support for navigation as well as focus. On the other hand, location message displays a larger map preview. Interestingly, you can also customise ringtone for an incoming call from WhatsApp and file pictures, audio and video received in WhatsApp using a year and month sub-directory.

One needs to download WhatsApp v2.12.1.2 from BlackBerry World to get started with the calling feature.
