WhatsApp introduces the pin chat option for group chats to foster community engagement

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for community group chats, allowing users to pin these group chats atop their chat window. The pin chat option is now accessible for community groups, following the earlier availability of this function for individual chats on the messaging app. The update, version 2.23.24.9, is currently in the testing phase for Android beta users.

According to details shared by WABetaInfo, the pin feature for community chats can be found within the group’s menu. Users participating in community group chats can now pin these conversations to the top of their chat window. This enhancement offers an easy way for members to keep their most relevant or frequently used community discussions easily accessible.

By pinning community group chats, users can effectively organize and manage their chat engagements. Pinning these groups to the top of their chat list provides quicker access, offering a convenient way to stay connected with preferred communities.

The pinning feature for community group chats is initially available for beta testers, and its wider release for all users is expected in the near future. Meanwhile, WhatsApp, under Meta’s ownership, is also working on developing a new feature aimed at discreetly hiding locked chats. This anticipated update will enable users to conceal the entry point for locked chats, offering an additional layer of privacy and security by requiring a secret code for access through the search bar, enhancing confidentiality for sensitive conversations.
