Apple users are receiving a major productivity boost as WhatsApp officially rolls out several highly anticipated features for the iOS platform. This latest update aims to streamline the user experience, particularly for those managing multiple identities or migrating to new hardware. The headline addition is the Native Dual Account support, which finally allows iPhone users to operate two separate WhatsApp accounts—such as a personal and a professional line—within a single application. This eliminates the need for third-party workarounds or carrying two devices.
Seamless Data Migration and Transfers
Another significant highlight of the update is the Direct Chat Transfer tool. Historically, moving WhatsApp data between iPhones relied heavily on iCloud backups, which could be slow or limited by storage quotas. The new “Transfer Chats to iPhone” feature utilizes a localized QR code system to move message history, media, and attachments directly between devices over a private Wi-Fi connection. This peer-to-peer method is not only faster but ensures that sensitive conversations remain encrypted and off the cloud during the transition.
Redesigned Interface and Privacy Controls
In addition to functional tools, WhatsApp has introduced a refreshed interface for iOS 27. The navigation bar has been moved to the bottom for easier one-handed use, and the “Updates” tab now features a cleaner layout for Channels and Status updates. Privacy has also seen an upgrade with the introduction of Advanced IP Protection for calls. When enabled, this feature relays calls through WhatsApp servers to mask the user’s IP address from the recipient, providing an extra layer of security against location tracking.

These features are being released as part of a staged global rollout. While many users will see the update immediately via the App Store, others may receive it over the coming days.
