To get a deep insight about new challenges in printing domain & channel strategies ITVoice met Puneet Datta, Director- Marketing & Sales, PPP Group, Canon India, who shared the details.

To move towards market leadership across product category, Canon India has announced the merger of OGI. As part of its mega plan to achieve market leadership, the company has set a target of doubling its turnover in India in the next two years. Canon India has decided to undertake several initiatives such as greater focus on the western market of India, increasing the number of product launches and doubling retail reach in order to double its turnover in the next two years.

With the new government shaping, Mr. Puneet is hoping to get upbeat in the market .We are participating in e-governance initiatives. We definitely have strategy to enhancing our share of government businesses as well,” says Puneet. The expectations from the new government are the highest in almost a decade. We are looking forward to a more amiable and transparent government that will implement new policies like GST and others. The present scenario looks positive, so we are optimistic that the new government will bring some change which is good for the industry growth. We are looking forward to a government which boosts India’s economy and makes India a developed country.

Canon has achieved remarkable growth in the Indian market, which can be attributed to the company’s go-to-market strategy in the country. The company has taken a proactive approach to expanding its distribution reach in the country.

Canon India runs channel partner programmes at regular intervals. Giving a new dimension to its channel roadmap for PPP group, Canon India is adding 500 channel partners in the 55 second tier cities. This action has been necessitated by the company’s mission of having its presence in each district of the country. We are going for“massive channel expansion, we want to have our channel presence in every district of India says Puneet. “We would be adding more quality driven partners with vertical approach”. As per the channels promotion is concerned “canon will be organizing the  partners meet, road shows & exhibitions on regional front” he added.
