Vu launches 4K UltraHD TVs starting at Rs 89,900 exclusively via Snapdeal

So you thought, only mobile phones are being sold on exclusive e-commerce sites? Well, Vu Technologies has announced the launch of its 4K UltraHD TVs which will be sold exclusively on Snapdeal. The TVs will come in 50-inch and 55-inch sizes and will be priced at Rs 89,900 and Rs Rs 1,19,000 respectively.Vu has decided to call out Samsung and Sony 4K TVs in terms of pricing claiming that Vu TVs come at almost half the price – Rs 89,900 for the 50-inch versus Samsung’s 48-inch 4K TV at Rs 1,59,556, and Rs 1,19,000 for the 55-inch model versus Sony’s equivalent model at a market price of Rs 2,18,000.

Vu says that its 4K TVs will comes with a quad-core graphics engine which will give an accelerated UltraHD experience allowing non 4K content, beamed by your set-top box, to scale up easily ensuring that you get detailed and sharper images. Of course, we will have to see it for ourselves to believe that.Devita Saraf, CEO and Design Head, Vu Televisions commented at the product launch, “Our TVs are the only A+ grade panels in India, which is the top 15 per cent of all the world’s television production. With our Ultra HD Range, we make large size TVs even more advanced and yet affordable”.

The idea to go with an online partnership stems from the fact that a lot of Indian customers tend to go online to get the best detals. The Vu  4K UltraHD TVs will be stocked at 380 locations across India with direct shipping and service from Vu service centres.

Commenting about the launch, Tony Navin, Senior Vice President – Electronics and Home, Snapdeal.com said, ““The Televisions category on Snapdeal has been one of the fastest growing categories with growth rates of over 30 per cent month-on-month. The partnership with Vu Technologies has resulted in consumers benefitting tremendously with several exciting campaigns we have executed together in the past with the entire range of Vu products. We expect this product to do very well in this run up to Diwali.”
