Vodaphone rolls out ‘Private Recharge’ feature for prepaid subscribers


Vodafone India has rolled out a new ‘Private Recharge’ feature for its prepaid subscribers. It allows subscribers to recharge their accounts with Vodafone rolls out ‘Private Recharge’ feature for prepaid subscribers out sharing mobile numbers with the retailers.
To avail the service, subscribers just need to send a toll-free SMS ‘PRIVATE’ to 12604. They will then receive a unique 10-digit OTP, which can then be shared at multi-brand retail outlets, Vodafone stores or Vodafone Mini stores, to recharge their prepaid accounts with the desired value.
Last month, Vodafone+ rolled out the same service for postpaid users. The service is presently available in Goa and Maharashtra, and will be soon rolled out in other circles.
Recently, Idea Cellular+ introduced a similar service for its subscribers.
The telco said that no extras cost will be incurred for using the service. In order to avail the service, Idea subscribers need to SMS ‘Code’ to the toll free number 55515. After that, they’ll receive an OTP. This can be shared with the retailer in place of the actual mobile number.
Earlier this month, Vodafone rolled out its 4G services in Pune. Vodafone SuperNet TM4G services+ services have now been rolled out in 107 cities and towns in Maharashtra & Goa including Nagpur, Nashik, Vasai, Akola, Chandrapur, Amravati, Latur, Dhule, Malegaon, Goa, Ahmednagar, Nanded, Sangli, Miraj, Kolhapur, Jalgaon etc. and will soon be rolled out across all major towns and cities of Maharashtra by March 2017, a release issued here said.
Ashish Chandra, Business Head – Maharashtra & Goa Circle, Vodafone India said, “We started our 4G journey in Maharashtra from Nagpur and followed it up with launches in 107 cities and towns within a period of 3 months. Vodafone is now expanding its services across the IT, manufacturing and education hub of Pune.”
