Vodafone India has launched ‘free’ incoming national roaming packs

Vodafone-logo-635Vodafone India has launched ‘free’ incoming national roaming packs for its pre-paid and post-paid subscribers.

Vodafone has introduced a special tariff voucher for its pre-paid subscribers which costs Rs. 5 and gives customers free incoming calls on national roaming for a day. The outgoing calls while on roaming will be charged at 1.5 paise per second.

To activate this daily plan, Vodafone subscribers will have to dial *444*500# from their phone. In addition to this, Vodafone also introduced a monthly plan, which offers free incoming calls while on roaming. This plan is available for both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers. The pre-paid subscribers will have to shell out Rs. 71 for this plan while post-paid subscribers will have to spend Rs. 75. The outgoing calls in this case will be charged at 1.5 paise per second.

Vodafone has also launched a new plan for its pre-paid and post-paid customers. Under this plan, post-paid subscribers will have to pay Rs. 149 per month (may vary from circle to circle) and they will get incoming calls while roaming at 25 percent and local SMS at 33 percent discount. Pre-paid subscribers will have to pay Rs. 196 (may vary from circle to circle) to activate this plan.

Speaking about the new roaming plans, Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India said, “There is an increasing need of customers to remain connected while travelling and our latest national roaming plans enable our customers to do that without worrying about high roaming cost. With these new roaming plans we aim to offer a hassle-free roaming experience to our customers.”

It is noteworthy that a few days ago, Airtel and Idea Cellular had also launched their ‘free’ roaming packs.
