VMWARE UNVEILS NEXT-GENERATION PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO FURTHER ENABLE THE SOFTWARE-DEFINED DATA CENTER

Addressing the needs of organizations to simplify IT, VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure at VMworld® 2013 announced a wave of new products and services designed to help IT accelerate their adoption of a software-defined data center architecture and take advantage of the value of advanced virtualization in areas such as networking and security, storage and availability, and management and automation. The news was unveiled at the company’s 10th annual VMworld® in San Francisco, where more than 22,000 attendees saw first-hand details and demos of newly-introduced technology including VMware NSXTM, VMware Virtual SANTM, VMware vCloud® Suite 5.5 and VMware vSphere® with Operations ManagementTM 5.5.

2.VMWARE FURTHER SIMPLIFIES IT SUPPORT FOR THE MOBILE WORKFORCE WITH NEW CAPABILITIES AND PARTNERSHIPS FOR VMWARE HORIZON™ SUITE

VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, unveiled new capabilities and partnerships that further simplify IT’s ability to support the growing mobile workforce. 3.VMWARE DELIVERS VCLOUD® HYBRID SERVICE™

At VMworld® 2013, VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, announced the general availability of the new VMware vCloud® Hybrid Service™, new data center locations, and new capabilities to make it simple to bring existing and new cloud-native applications to the public cloud. “Since its debut on May 21, VMware vCloud Hybrid Service has experienced great momentum and success with an over-subscribed Early Access Program, acquiring a strategic beachhead of customers taking full advantage of the ability to extend their applications to the cloud,” said Bill Fathers, senior vice president and general manager, Hybrid Cloud Services Business Unit, VMware. “With the new data centers and important new capabilities, we’re executing quickly against our vision of a hybrid cloud service that is completely interoperable with existing infrastructure and enables new and existing applications to run without compromise.” vCloud Hybrid Service, built on VMware vSphere®, enables customers to extend the same skills, tools, networking and security models across both on-premises and off-premises environments.

4.VMWARE CLOUD MANAGEMENT HELPS DRIVE ADOPTION OF SOFTWARE-DEFINED DATA CENTER ARCHITECTURE

VMware Cloud Management solutions are helping customers achieve the promise of the software-defined data center architecture, VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, announced at VMworld® 2013. With best-in-class cloud automation, cloud operations, and cloud business management solutions, VMware delivers a comprehensive product portfolio to help simplify and automate management in the mobile-cloud era. VMware keynote previewed the next-generation of VMware Cloud Management solutions including VMware vCloud Automation Center, VMware vCenter™ Log Insight™, VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite™ and VMware IT Business Management™. VMware president and chief operating officer Carl Eschenbach and team showcased state-of-the-art technology that is transforming IT by virtualizing and automating compute, storage, networking and security across private and hybrid clouds. In the demonstration, Carl showcased how VMware Cloud Management solutions enable self-service access to application services and their automated provisioning across hybrid clouds, as well as automated operations management leveraging both structured and unstructured data.

5.VMWARE VSPHERE® WITH OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT™ 5.5 DELIVERS INCREASED PERFORMANCE AND AVAILABILITY FOR BUSINESS-CRITICAL APPLICATIONS RUNNING ON THE INDUSTRY-LEADING VIRTUALIZATION PLATFORM WITH CAPACITY OPTIMIZATION

VMware announced vSphere® with Operations Management™ 5.5, which includes new and enhanced functionality to deliver agility, efficiency, and resiliency for customer IT environments. As virtualization is deployed, it is critical to have visibility into an IT environment’s operating performance to ensure service levels. VMware introduced VMware vSphere with Operations Management in Q1 2013 as a way to integrate capacity planning, performance and health monitoring technology into vSphere, the industry-leading virtualization platform. It will enable customers to run business-critical applications on vSphere and optimizes capacity, helping customers grow virtual environments with confidence. VMware vSphere with Operations Management provides a holistic view of how the IT infrastructure is operating, enabling customers to gain operational insights to improve availability and performance.

6.VMWARE VIRTUAL SAN™ EXTENDS VMWARE® VSPHERE HYPERVISOR TO DELIVER SIMPLE, HIGH-PERFORMANCE STORAGE FOR VIRTUAL MACHINES

VMware announced VMware Virtual SAN, a new software-defined storage solution that extends VMware vSphere® to pool compute and direct-attached storage. VMware Virtual SAN™ clusters server disks and flash to produce simple, high-performance, resilient shared storage designed for virtual machines. It will unlock a new tier of converged infrastructure that brings data closer to applications and enables granular scaling of compute and storage resources. VMware Virtual SAN will be available via public beta in Q3 2013. VMware Virtual SAN will simplify storage provisioning and management dramatically for virtual machines. Featuring a scale-out architecture that is fast, resilient and dynamic, VMware Virtual SAN will deliver significantly lower TCO in use cases such as VDI, test/development environments and disaster recovery targets. With its granular, scale-out approach, VMware Virtual SAN will enable customers to start small and add new servers as performance and capacity needs grow instead of incurring large upfront investments.

7.VMWARE VCLOUD® SUITE 5.5: COMPREHENSIVE, INTEGRATED PRIVATE CLOUD SOLUTION THAT SIMPLIFIES IT OPERATIONS WHILE OPTIMIZING SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENTS FOR APPLICATIONS

VMware announced VMware vCloud® Suite 5.5, a new release of the comprehensive and integrated suite of cloud infrastructure and management software that enables customers to build and operate vSphere®-based private clouds using the software-defined data center architecture.
