Prateek: How are the government policies helping in the digitization process and development?

Vishal Shah: Government has initiated many policy decisions to encourage the adoption of IT, digitization process, and development. This scheme is known as the Promotion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the MSME sector. It provides significant subsidy on payment of Cloud Infrastructure Rental, Subscription to Software as a Service (SaaS). It also provides subsidies on interest charged on the loan of CAPEX in IT Infrastructure.

Prateek: What will be the trends to look out for in the coming time?

Vishal Shah: With the Internet availability easing out in terms of access and cost, a tremendous shift from on-premise to cloud infrastructure is anticipated in the Enterprise Segment. This will boost the development of Data Center Cloud Infrastructure in a big way. The government’s proposed data localization policy will require Indian companies to store their data in India only. It will evolve indigenous cloud infrastructure development which is in its nascent stage at the moment. The government’s Personal Data Privacy Policy will require provisions of cyber-security for every size of the enterprise. The aforesaid developments will lead to the trends of indigenization of cloud infrastructure, more sensitivity to protection of personal data, and change in working culture to hybrid work culture.

Prateek: Will 5G prove to be a gamechanger in rapid development?

Vishal Shah: It will definitely. It will fuel the proliferation of a good quality of Internet bandwidth with enterprises as well as consumers. It will be instrumental in the adoption of virtual reality and augmented reality-based collaborative activities in the consumer and enterprise segments.

Prateek: How was the response for Blackbox in the past year? What is the organization’s vision for the coming years?

Vishal Shah: BLACKbox is standing out as a business opportunity for resellers in the IT industry. Given the cut-throat competition and diminishing margins in traditional IT products, resellers and system integrators are looking for technically superior and high-margin products to sell. BLACKbox being targeted to MSMEs who exist in millions has great volume potential. BLACKbox being the first of its kind all-in-one product specifically designed for MSMEs has an early mover’s advantage. It is a product with high margins and potentially high volume in the MSME sector. The organization’s vision in the coming years is to become a one-stop solution provider for MSMEs. It will be achieved by training and certifying a number of BLACKbox Certified Professionals and enriching the product with more features.
