Vikas Gupta:- How is Viewsonic looking at its Indian operations? What are the top most priorities here?
Mr. Girish Mamtani :- ViewSonic looks at India with great potential. In the past ViewSonic has focused on Topline growth with gradually focusing more on sustainable business operations. We have our share of loyal customer who will vouch for the build quality and sheer variety of display solutions on offer. It is immensely satisfying that we offer all possible display solutions to our customers. Having witnessed a tsunami in currency market we do hope to see a stable rupee regime so that customers including channel partners are assured of Value and profitability. Imports in general have been affected with major brunt being borne by IT industry due to the slim margin ecosystem it operates in. Till the currency stabilizes we will continue to focus on profitable streams even if it means contracting our business expectation in the short term.
Vikas Gupta:- What is the USP of ViewSonic Monitors’ products that help them to excel the competition in India?
Mr. Girish Mamtani :- ViewSonic is amongst few vendors who offer the widest range of monitors from 15.6” to 27” to cater to all segments of desktop users. We draw upon our global presence to have monitors with all sorts of inputs / Panel based on all conceivable client requirements around the world. Today ViewSonic has the widest line up of Touch monitors, in fact we were the first of the block about a year ago with our optical touch monitors which later gave way to 10 point projected capacitive touch monitors as well.
Vikas Gupta:- Which all market verticals do your products cater to?
Mr. Girish Mamtani :- ViewSonic is currently present in Projector vertical as well. While it has leadership position in many countries , India is just warming up to our projector range. We have excellent value proposition and build quality which will allow us to be in pole position in next few years.
Vikas Gupta:- How will you distinguish Indian market from the rest of the world? Do you find India as a potential market for ViewSonic Monitors?
Mr. Girish Mamtani :- As mentioned earlier we have gone past potential stage and at one point of time took leadership position in Monitors in India. We have done huge volumes but now focus on more sustainable margin products as well as B2B.
Vikas Gupta:- ViewSonic Monitors is gradually expanding its retail presence in India. At present how many View Sonic Monitors’ exclusive retail stores are there in India. And what are your future plans?
Mr. Girish Mamtani :- Monitors is not a retail product in the sense that all / key models would be available on display. The high end skus are more of B2B oriented products where we have a band of VAR to whom we offer special demo pricing for customer evaluation. May be we need to have an experience center where we can showcase our entire lineup. Yes that is one area we would like to become part of our channel strategy.
