Verizon today has entered into an agreement with Renfinity

Verizon today has entered into an agreement with Renfinity to merge its best in class Terremark solution with Renfinity’s Secure Grid® to distribute supreme security to the Enterprise Cloud. The amalgamation of the two systems will give private companies, public utilities, and federal agencies access to a combined physical and cyber security infrastructure that is unrivaled in the industry. These companies can take advantage of the scalability of the Verizon Terremark solution, while leveraging Renfinity’s Secure Grid® to achieve significant benefits in its Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) and Software as a Service (SAAS) solutions.

“With Verizon,” according to Renfinity CEO Renée McCown, “we can deliver a much more vigorous security solution to our customers’ entire application infrastructure. By offering this as a service, our customers, who require Department of Defense class security, can now achieve the scale that they need to accomplish their business and infrastructure security goals.”

Renfinity’s patent pending Secure Grid® solution uses secure RFID to track and restrict the movement of physical and human assets as they move within a facility. This solution greatly enhances a company’s security solution, as it reduces the risk of bad actors gaining access to assets that they should not have access to, as well as prevents the removal of secure physical assets from the locations where they belong.

Renfinity and Verizon will begin the process of rolling out this solution to the general market in Q3 2014.
