To strengthen its presence in the promising Telecom Market of the Maharashtra Region, US based NASDAQ listed company UTStarcom, a global telecommunications infrastructure provider, today announced the appointment of Aanand Bankar as a new addition to its India team. As General Manager- Sales, Mumbai, Aanand will be leading sales & operations development for UTStarcom to bring potential business growth in existing markets, and capturing emerging markets in the west region. The company is expanding its footprints in India and aggressively hiring industry experts across different levels to increase its market share in the fastest growing Indian Telecom Sector.
The new appointment will advance the company’s expansion plan and operations in Indian markets. Prior to joining UTStarcom, Aanand Bankar served as the Head- Key Account management (India & SAARC), ECI Telecom, Mumbai where he played a vital role in supervising and controlling a team of Pre Sales Managers, leading commercial negotiations, conflict resolution with customers and new account acquisition.

Aanand Bankar is a senior management professional with 12 years of rich experience in Telecom, Strategic Planning, Account Management, Product Management, Product Sales, Product Pricing, Sales & Revenue Generation and New Product Introduction. As the Head- Key Account management (India & SAARC), ECI Telecom, Mumbai, was engaged in maintaining business in existing areas like Transmission – SDH / DWDM and develop and conclude new opportunities in other areas like Wifi, Microwave, CGNAT, Surveillance along with handling P & L responsibility for third party product Sales.
He also held the position of Senior Manager-Strategic Account Management with Japan based NEC Corporation for their Mumbai office and was associated with Emerson Network Power (India) Private Ltd. as Champion (Deputy Manager) Product Management & Strategy – Telecom. Mr. Bankar holds Bachelor’s in Engineering in Electronics from Mumbai University and has received an MMS in Marketing from K. J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai
