Updates for Instagram Reels

The social media giant owned by Facebook, Instagram has added new audio features for Reels, which is more likely to be similar to TikTok. Users can now save their favorite audio clips, they can share audio pages over DMs, and they can also browse via new sections such as For You and Trending. These updates will make things easier for users to share and even save their favorite audio clips. The new update with the new features has already started to roll out. The American photo and video sharing social networking service have been releasing updates on a daily basis for the short-form video sharing feature despite it was presented just recently.

People can now share all their Reels that use an exact piece of audio via DM on the social media platform. With the help of the new ‘Save Audio’ feature, people can save sounds within the application and use it their own Reels videos. The creators of Reels will be able to recognize trending songs and clips easier than before. People will also be able to bookmark their favorite songs within the application and then revisit them later.

Similar to Instagram’s save posts feature, users can also press the audio button and then click on the save icon. It will save the audio files and users can check it out by visiting the Audio folder in the saved posts section on the social media platform.

Reels is a short-video making and sharing feature available on Instagram which it had launched in July to compete with china’s popular video sharing platform, TikTok. The feature was released in the country after TikTok was banned in India. Reels were expanded worldwide soon after.

After the update was done in September, Instagram allowed its users to make reels of up to 30 seconds, which was instead 15 seconds before the update was done. Some more fundamental but valuable features were released in September that includes the timer being extended to 10 seconds while recording a reel and the capability to trim and remove any video.

The company is aiming to pull in more users of reels with the new specifications. The previous month, the social media giant has added a button dedicated especially to Reels to make it easier for users to explore more videos.
