Twitter has rolled out ‘Verified Organizations’ to Global Markets

Source: Twitter

Verified Organizations, a new feature from Twitter, allows pre-approved organisations to validate the affiliated Twitter handles. The feature hopes to lessen Twitter’s workload as the only account verifier and offer businesses and their affiliates a novel way to stand out on the platform.

Organizations can control the vetting and verification of their affiliated accounts with Verified Organizations, and those accounts can show an affiliate badge with the organization’s logo on their profiles. According to a tweet from Twitter, numerous businesses from various industries, including sports teams, news outlets, financial institutions, Fortune 500 corporations, and non-profits, have already signed up to become Verified Organizations.

On their Twitter profiles, these organisations have made a public list of their affiliated accounts, showing those accounts are linked to the organisation. Additionally, Twitter has stated that it will stop offering free account verification as of April 1, 2023, which may encourage more businesses to sign up as Verified Companies in order to keep their account verification status.

As of right now, Verified Groups are accessible to everyone on Twitter. Interested companies, non-profits, governments, and international organisations can join the waitlist here. Email offers will be sent to the organisations that were selected from the waitlist.

Announcing the feature, Twitter posted –

“Verified Organizations is a new way for organizations and their affiliates to distinguish themselves on Twitter. Rather than relying on Twitter to be the sole arbiter of truth for which accounts should be verified, vetted organizations that sign up for Verified Organizations are in full control of vetting and verifying accounts they’re affiliated with.”
