Twitter has reportedly removed the Direct Message button on Android and iOS apps

According to a 9to5Google story, Twitter has disabled the ability to send a direct message to another user through the profile page on Android and iOS.

Following, a direct message (DM) button appears, and the notifications symbol is no longer present. It is thought that the reported issue affects all Twitter users and is only a minor problem. According to 9to5Google, the button is still visible on the web app’s microblogging platform. Whether Twitter made the adjustment on purpose is unknown.

However, by looking up the appropriate account in the messages page, Twitter users can still send a direct message.

The change was made a few days after Elon Musk said a pricey subscription plan without commercials will go live soon. Additionally, he disclosed that the future upgrade would not compel users to utilise the algorithmic timeline “For You.”
