TUV Rheinland India Announces Partnership With Mumbai Based Auto Inspectorate

To provide certification for pre- owned cars

TÜV Rheinland India, a subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland Group, Germany, a worldwide leader in Testing, Thomas Fuhrmann_CEO & MD of TUV Rheinland India (2)Inspection, Certification & Training, has announced that it has partnered with Mumbai based Auto Inspectorate India Pvt. Ltd. to provide certification for pre- owned cars. Auto Inspectorate is dedicated to provide systematic, professional, Technical Inspection Services of automobiles to Financial Institutions, Banks, Automobile Traders, Insurance Companies and its Clients.

Certification is the process to ascertain the road worthiness of the vehicle. Most of the pre- owned car buyers are not aware of the intricacies and technicalities involved in operation or functioning of the vehicle. On a visual observation, the vehicle may be in perfect condition, but the internal parts and engine may tell a different story. This is where the Certification of the vehicle assumes added importance. Minute inspection of the vehicle is done with particular attention on its electrical and transmission systems, Air conditions, structural defects, tires, upholsteries etc. After such extensive examination of the vehicle, a certificate is issued certifying its fitness for road worthiness.

“We are pleased to partner with Auto Inspectorate, India’s first Independent Pre-Owned Car Inspection company”, said Mr Thomas Fuhrmann, CEO & MD of TUV Rheinland India. “TUV Rheinland will bring global standards, experience and expertise to India and along with Auto Inspectorate’s local domain expertise, set a bench mark in the Indian Pre-Owned Car Inspection and Certification business.”

“Buyers need assurance with respect to the condition of their selected pre- owned car like the mechanical condition, essential documents etc. However, the Certification of Pre-owned Cars by major organised players is based on their own Inspection Standards with their own interests and there is no harmony /uniformity in such Standards,” said Mr Hemant Desai, Country Head – Mobility Division, TUV Rheinland India. “Inspection & Certification done by independent 3rd party like TUV Rheinland with a global reputation will always be perceived to be more reliable and accurate and create more confidence in the Buyer.”

Said Mr Sachin A Mulge, CEO of Auto Inspectorate, “As the number of people buying pre- owned cars is expected to grow in volumes, inspection services and Certification are also expected to grow in leaps and bounds. These services give the customer, whether a seller or a buyer, a sense of security and assures their peace of mind. Our partnership with a global inspection and certification company like TUV Rheinland will further boost our capabilities to tap the fast growing opportunities in this sector.”
