According to AV-TEST, the research firm continuously evaluated 28 home-user security products throughout 2014 in six certification tests using their default settings. Focusing on realistic test scenarios, AV-TEST challenged the products against real-world threats. The products had to demonstrate their capabilities using all components and protection layers, and AV-TEST evaluated the most current publicly-available version of all products during testing. The field of vendors were allowed to provide updates at any time and query their in-the-cloud services.

“For the past 12 months, we have been impressed by the superior protection Trend Micro Internet Security has demonstrated,” said Andreas Marx, AV-TEST Institute CEO. “When it came down to selecting the vendor for this category, Trend Micro’s consistent presence of protection made this an easier decision.”In addition to the Trend Micro Internet Security product winning “best protection,” the Trend Micro Mobile Security product has consistently achieved certification for both malware and PUA (potentially unwanted apps) since November 2013 through January 2015.
