TP-LINK Announces the Touch P5, a Router That Incorporates Touch Screen Technology With the Power of Extreme Wi-Fi

A world leader in the WLAN electronics, today announced the 20150303110046release of their Touch P5 Router, the first in a line of routers which The Touch P5 represents another in the family of high bandwidth router solutions, after the successful launch of the Archer C9, this time sporting a Touch Screen control system that is simply captured in two words, powerfully elegant.

Other than the Touch Screen itself, the Touch P5 supports a variety of functions that make it anextremely impressive router in its own right. With such features as Simultaneous Dual Band speeds of up to 600Mbps over 2.4 GHz and 1300Mbps over 5GHz, flexible wall mounting for freedom of placement, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports for high speed file and printer sharing, and 3 Dual Band antennas offering extreme levels of coverage and signal strength.

The 4.3 inch capacitive Touch Screen offers both a colorful and intuitive level of control, in addition to the browser administration which is typical to most routers, and represents an innovative step up in user interaction.

“The Touch Screen provides an advanced level of user interaction for wireless routers, allowing users to see what’s happening on their network directly.” said Andy Chen, Director of The screen itself is surfaced with unbreakable toughened glass to ensure strength and durability, and is powered by its own independent STMicroelectronics Chipset, unlike other Touch Screen routers in this class. This innovation allows for a fast and responsive UI experience, without burdening to the router’s main CPU and core functionality.

One of the unique features of the Touch P5 is the simple yet elegant design of the User Interface. Users who are familiar with mobile device UIs will instinctively understand the interface’s Touch Screen control system which makes full use of the tried and tested ‘tap and slide’ formula. Those with lesser experience will be able to pick it up easily as the user-friendly layout and design provides an environment that is extremely intuitive.

“The UI was designed to be usable by anyone, we wanted to make it fully featured without being needlessly technical ” said Andy Chen. Using the Touch Screen interface, you are able to access many functions including Wireless

Configuration, Print Servers, File Sharing, WPS Matching and Media Server settings for home The Touch P5, powered by a Broadcom chipset running at 1GHz and Simultaneous Dual band offering a combined speed of 1900Mbps, far greater speeds than those offered by other routers in this class. This is strengthened by the three Dual band Omni-directional antennas which broadcast their bandwidth over 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac frequencies, and Gigabit WAN and LAN ports
for fast and reliable wired connections.

All this means that the Touch P5 is another significant offering from TP-LINK and stands as a
powerhouse of router functionality and creative user experience.
