TinyOwl Launches ‘TinyOwl Homemade’ In Bengaluru

TinyOwl, the preeminent food ordering app has extended ‘TinyOwl Homemade’ in Bengaluru. The company is expanding this platform TinyOwlin Bengaluru after the stupendous response in Mumbai. The company closely studied and analysed the consumer response to apps and technological penetrations.

TinyOwl Homemade has attracted over 500 orders a day across the three localities of Powai, Andheri and Bandra in Mumbai. Launching the services in the Bengaluru, Harshvardhan Mandad, Cofounder & CEO, TinyOwl said “We have seen immense growth in this segment—7x since February 2015. TinyOwl Homemade will be able to provide more options to our consumers and other stakeholders in the food eco-system. We aim to take TinyOwl Homemade to other cities as well in the near future.”

TinyOwl Homemade did a pilot project at Bangalore in August with 3 cuisine options and 1 dessert option. The responses within the first month have been extremely encouraging for the company. TinyOwl Homemade currently offers only Lunch in Bengaluru and is live in BTM, Koramangla, HSR, and Indira Nagar. Homemade works with 150 chefs in Mumbai and 15 in Bengaluru will gradually increase to over 100 in the next few months. The app lists 30 – 40 dishes a day, 74% being vegetarian. The home-chefs are charged a commission of 15 – 30 % of dish value, average order value being Rs. 250.

While thee app can be downloaded from Google Playstore or iOS free of cost, the company is also in the process of accepting entries for chefs from housewives with at least 4 years of cooking experience.
Launched in 2014 by five IITians, TinyOwl has made significant inroads into the online food ordering category since then. TinyOwl’s elegant and minimalistic interface automatically detects users’ location or gives them the choice to type in another location. From confirming the order to informing the customer about the estimated delivery time, the app does it all for its users. The app’s wide choice of restaurants with varied cuisines across different price points and payment options, makes TinyOwl an ideal destination for foodies. Since its inception, the company has been on a path of rapid growth and is targeting it’s presence in 50 cities by the end of 2015.
